My name is Carmel and I have been a practising counsellor in Derbyshire for the past 10. years. I am committed to providing counselling in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
I work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
I am experienced in helping clients who have experienced difficulties with :
Low self esteem.Abuse
Many People experience difficulties at some stage in their lives and it is a natural and normal to want to talk to someone.
I am an experienced Counsellor who can offer you a safe environment in which to explore your emotions.
My training was in Integrative Counselling but I favour person centred therapy. Developing an empathic and compassionate therapeutic relationship is central to this. You will begin to feel heard, understood and less alone with your troubles. I can use other interventions and you can be confident that your therapy will be tailored to your needs and wants.
Counselling can help you to develop an awareness of your own thoughts, feelings and needs which will give you an insight and understanding into your personal difficulties. Hopefully you will start to feel more comfortable and confident in developing your ability to identify and change what does not feel right for you.
I have experience of working in areas such as relationship problems, depression, anxiety, bereavement, loss, trauma, abuse, low self-esteem, and dealing with anger.
I work both with individuals and with couples. Whether you are having difficulty coping with your present circumstances, or are troubled by things which happened long ago, counselling can have a huge positive impact on your life.
My practice is within easy reach of Alfreton Derby, Chesterfiled, Clay Cross, Swanick and Riddings.
